1 Psalm 116 I Love Yahweh I love Yahweh, because He hearsMy voiceandmy supplications.2 Because He has inclined His ear to me,So I shall callupon Himin all my days.3 The cords of death encompassed meAnd the 116:3Lit straits distresses of Sheol found me;I found distress and sorrow.4 Then I called upon the name of Yahweh:“O Yahweh, I beseech You, 116:4Or deliver my soul! provide my soul escape!”5 ¶Gracious is Yahweh, and righteous;And our God is compassionate.6 Yahweh keeps the simple;I was brought low, and He saved me.7 Return to your rest, O my soul,For Yahweh has dealt bountifully with you.8 For You have rescued my soul from death,My eyes from tears,My feet from stumbling.9 I shall walk before YahwehIn the 116:9Lit lands land of the living.10 I believed when I said,“I am greatly afflicted.”11 I said in my alarm,“All men are liars.”12 ¶What shall I give to Yahweh in returnFor all His bountiful dealings 116:12Lit upon with me?13 I shall lift up the cup of 116:13Lit salvations salvationAnd call upon the name of Yahweh.14 I shall pay my vows to Yahweh,Ohmay it bein the presence of all His people.15 Precious in the sight of YahwehIs the death of His holy ones.16 O Yahweh, 116:16Or because surely I am Your slave,I am Your slave, the son of Your maidservant,You have loosed my bonds.17 To You I shall offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving,And call upon the name of Yahweh.18 I shall pay my vows to Yahweh,Ohmay it bein the presence of all His people,19 In the courts of the house of Yahweh,In the midst of you, O Jerusalem. 116:19Or Hallelujah!
